History Of Great Wall Of ChinaBuilding the Great Wall of China spanned several centuries in time. From the latter half of the 14th century to the early part of the 17th century, the wall as we know it today took form. It had actually started being built hundreds of years before that when different factions of Chinese put up earth boundaries for protection. These separate sections were connected during the Quin dynasty, between 221 and 206 B.C.. The connections that brought together the existing earth structures were built almost entirely from forced labor on orders from Qin Shihuangdi, the first Qui Emperor. Each Emperor after him continued to force workers to build more of the wall, which made it bigger, taller, longer and more elaborate. Many workers died during the building of the wall and their bodies were buried inside of it. Snippet of article Click here to read more
